Boat Cleanup
Strangely this fall, we canceled our first day of youth sailing. With winds gusting over 20 mph we felt it would be irresponsible to launch beginning sailors out onto the lake. Instead, we utilized our loyal volunteer crew for an annual boat cleanup. Our summer storms had caused a lot of dirt and debris to accumulate.
Thanks to Amy Shafrank, Bruce Guttler, Barrie Soloway, David Burdett, Paul Chasse, and Mike Megarity for their scrubbing efforts. A special shout out to brand new member Scott Kroll! We love new members that jump right in. In just a few hours, the team cleaned our fleet of 8 O'pen Bics, 7 Optimist Prams, and 2 coach boats.
Barry's new truck made quick work of hauling all four trailers from storage to lakeside.
While bringing the boat trailers down to the lake, we witnessed the spectacle of the lake water being all the way up to the fence. Hopefully, we will have some beach space by next weekend.
Jim Wallace usually instructs from this floating dock, which now requires a wade through the water.
