Sunscreen for the boats
After another very successful Spring Youth Sailing Program, our club boats, Open Skiffs, Prams and the safety boats are going into storage. The new boats will last much longer if they are protected from UV damage.
Youth Sailing Coordinator asked me if I would sew up some sunshade for the Dinghy trailers. We found a suitable material and purchased it last year but Barry needed to upgrade the trailers before we made the shades.
This week, after the final program session last Saturday, Barry completed the upgrade of the trailers and so out came the material that has been sitting in my storage utility room at home for the past few months.
The covers are quite large and it would be a lot easier to put them together if I were able to use a larger space than my workroom at home.
Pierre Holstein, a club member, offered the use of his events venue 'The Soundpost Venue' and that was a huge help. Pierre moved some of the seating and tables around to make it easier for me to construct the SunShade and provided me with a work area to setup my sewing machine and equipment.
Thanks Pierre ( here's a link to his facebook post about their grand opening
The SunShades should be installed on the trailers this Friday ( Tomorrow ) before they are moved to their long term storage.
